The Sage Accpac ERP 6.0 package includes applications that will greatly increase the efficiency of the finance and administrative offices of the University, such as accounts receivable, accounts payable, inventory control, purchase order. The UBA package will also integrate the existing student information system with Sage Accpac ERP application that will allow administrators to effectively monitor and record all relevant student data. 1- Size: well at the first glance it does not look really comfortable, it’s not a tab and yet it’s not a phone… it’s the first time this particular size is done. I like the size, you can use the phone with one hand but it is not very comfortable for one hand use but its possible.

2- Speed: no comments here, its fast and great. I will test the speed further with some 3D games but until now speed and processing has been very impressive.

3- It will run ice cream sandwich… that is one of the main reasons I bought it. the galaxy s2 and galaxy note are upgradable which is great.

4- Phone: as a phone you can use the device without any headset but it’s not recommended, its simple too big and it gets a little hot if you use it a lot. I used a Bluetooth headset and I am very happy with the quality.

5- stylus: very impressive stylus response and Gestures good. still getting used to them but I mostly use my hands and not the stylus.

6- Battery: not that impressive. if you are a heavy user and make a lot of calls expect a battery refill at 8-9pm. The upside is that every time your battery is running low you will get a quick report of what used up the battery. so you can do some changes that will improve battery performance.

If you want a tab and a phone in one this is your only and best choice in the market. I wanted to buy the 8.9 tab but I really wanted a phone with it because I travel a lot. so i went for the note. Until now the experience is very positive and recommended. if i have more time i will do a more detailed review on the phone.

After I read a couple of articles talk about new layoffs at RIM, I can see that the company is not doing as good as expected – which is not surprising at all. I believe that they need to change the way they perceive the customer and market fast in order to get out of the current situation and push their new products. on the other hand I really think they should work more closely with application providers in order to compete with iPhone and Android. It’s very obvious that consumers value applications. Although blackberry was originally positioned towards the corporate customer but their recent momentum was due to BBM appeal to the personal user and not the corporate one(In the middle east at least). When we asked our customers why they liked blackberry we had one answer “email and BBM”.  I still think that the prices currently paid in Jordan and middle east for the simple service of email and messaging is very expensive.

In the last 6 months we have seen a major shift in interest from our customers from blackberry to Android and iPhone for developing application. We first saw the decline in demand for Symbian and now we see the same for Blackberry platform. In the last week I have also seen the beginning of good change in RIM, first with their release of BBM 6 with some integration capabilities(more details). Second, with the confirmation that playbook will run Android Apps(more details). I don’t think that what they are doing is enough to bring back RIM but if they are consistent and creative in the short run they might be able to rally back from their stock downfall from 60$ to about 24$ today.

First impression:  When you turn on the phone the first thing you notice is that the screen resolution is actually bad( 240 x 320), so if you expecting some HD resolution don’t buy this phone. This kinda shut me down at the beginning. On the other hand the screen and phone size was really good and better than the Galaxy S which is too big a screen for me. The touch screen is good and I think Samsung are improving their screens but they still have a long way to go to really go head to head with iPhone.

Second impression: When you start using the phone you see that the speed is good (600MHz) but you can’t run power-hungry apps but its good enough. the reliability and battery power is good. The wireless and HSPA over 3G is a great feature for its cheap price. My only problem with Samsung Phones is their Kies software which i think is a pain in the @#$. specially with contact management integration with Outlook. a lot of things go wrong when you move your contacts and I can’t seem to find out how to control that. on the other hand most sync application are bad and I can’t think of any sync software that is good.

Conclusion: I actually really like this phone it has a lot to offer and the price is very good for what you get. it is not as ugly as the LG optimus which is a good thing. The phone size, performance and features are a bargain for the price tag. I recommend buying this phone if you want a smart phone for an affordable price tag. it’s the best in its class i.e. affordable smart phones

1- We have decided to merge UBA and Springfield together in one company under the UBA brand. This merger will create a company that will be able to better cater to our customers. We will have entry to enterprise level Business Applications through our products (S3 ,massij,Sage Accpac ERP and SageCRM). After the merger UBA will have four departments. They are SageCRM dept , ERP dept, S3 Dept and Mobile application dept.

2- We have Launched our training Center under the name of Jadeer Training. This center will be focused on providing training services focused on CRM, ERP, Mobile application.

3- CRM center for excellence: We have started a consultation company with our partners in Method that is focused on providing consultation services for Customer Loyalty programs, Sales Process Structuring, Customer sensitivity training, Customer Relationship Management Certification…etc.

Samsung Wave 2

As part of our work in the mobile applications we continuously buy new phones and test our applications usability and performance on them. This month I have bought the Samsung Wave 2 phone and I have personally used it to see if its worth our effort to develop our applications on it.  I have worked on the Blackberry, iPhone and Nokia Smart phones extensively so I hope that this review will help.

1- Call Quality: the Call Quality in the phone is very impressive, it’s a great phone with video call built-in just like the iPhone 4. The call quality and sound quality in phone calls is better than the iPhone and BlackBerry but equal to Nokia phones like the e72.

2- Applications: I was very disappointed with the application selection in this phone. You have the Samsung Ap store that is a replica of the apple ap store but with only 100-200 apps available out of which only 10 might be useful for you. if you are looking for a phone with a lot of Apps to use this phone is not the one to buy.

3- GUI(Graphical User Interface): the GUI was so similar to my iPhone that it freaked me out. it is a great replica with all the things you have in your iPhone. Because I am an iPhone user it was easier for me to go around and use the phone. The similarity between the iPhone and the Samsung Wave 2 was too much for my taste. It was like using a Chinese copy of the iPhone that looks and acts like the iPhone but it’s not an iPhone.

4- OS(operating System): The Samsung wave 2 comes loaded with the Bada operating System. for the price you pay(About 250-300JD) it’s a great buy. I don’t know about the future of the OS after the release of the Galaxy S loaded with Android OS. I really doubt that it will survive for long.

5- Battery Life: just simply great. I actually had it without charging it for 2 days and I was moderately using it. Very impressive.

6-Screen: Great looking Screen. Loved the resolution and look. impressive.

7-Camera: Although I did not use the camera a lot but i tested it out a couple of times and it was good enough for a 5mp camera with flash.

As an overall review, I liked the phone and it has some nice idea’s such as the widget screen among others. I did not review the Samsung Galaxy S yet but i think that buying this phone is not recommended because of the operating system and the future apps that will be released on it. I can’t see this OS going anywhere compared with OS4 and Android and Windows 7. I think that Samsung has done a good job with the phone but releasing a similar phone with Android on it from the same company kinda told me that they don’t believe in this products future.
